br> 06.28a. Radical Left Humor: Nader on Michael Moore. Via Instapundit, I learn that Ralph Nader thinks Michael Moore, undoubtedly someone to the left of the Democrats (and perhaps even to the left of Nader) has sold out to the Democrats. More surprisingly, this leftwing site displays good writing and wit! Perhaps Christopher Hitchens (my June 24 post) and I have been too negative about socialist humor. The Nader site says,

Your old friends remain committed to blazing paths for a just society and world. As they helped you years ago, they can help you now. They are also trim and take care of themselves. Girth they avoid. The more you let them see you, the less they will see of you. That could be their greatest gift to Moore the Second--the gift of health. What say you?

"Girth they avoid." A wonderful sentence. Are the Greens going 16th century? That is their only hope for a rational basis, I think-- but it is an argument worth investigating. ... [permalink: 04.06.28a.htm]
