  • In Twitter the problem is often how to reach the one person worth reaching, rather than 10,000 people you don't care about--- when you don't even know the name of that one person. The same with op-eds.
  • Judo is really much the same as ballroom dancing. The only difference is that you don't need to be able to keep time, and the follower and leader have adverse interests. But there is still a follower and a leader-- you just take turns.
  • Some minds are like finely tuned sports cars, speedy and fun and able to take sharp curves neatly, but needing constant maintenance and expensive parts, and prone to breakdown. They're good to have, but sometimes a banged-up old diesel pickup works better.
  • Young men glory in their strength, young women in their beauty.
Even if they're not very strong or beautiful.
It's all relative to childhood and old age.
  • *Any* empirical paper can be made more interesting and its point conveyed better by use of anecdotes. Regressions confirm the anecdotes; anecdotes bring the regressions to life.
